Compass is an online state benefit program for the people of Pennsylvania. Some benefit examples include medical assistance, cash assistance, food stamps, home energy assistance, school meal, and long-term care help. My Uncle Chester is always talking about having to get food stamps from www.compass.state.pa.us. Food stamps assist poor people in buying food in the state of Pennsylvania. Uncle Chester hasn’t had a legit job in his life and will take a handout whenever offered.
Food stamps are governed by Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program aka SNAP and can be used to purchase eligible food at grocery stores and supermarkets. Cash assistance is also available if you are unable to work due to a disability or if you simply do not earn enough money to support yourself and/or family. Applications for assistance can be made at COMPASS online here. I should note that COMPASS is an online application for Pennsylvanians to apply for all social program benefits offered by the state, just not cash assistance. The application process is fairly simple and should only take a few minutes.
If your already in receipt of benefits and would like to renew please see the “RENEW YOUR BENEFITS” wording on the www.compass.state.pa.us renew benefits home page. If you’re in the process of filing out an application but need to leave your progress will automatically be saved. If you need help filing your application please check with your local hospital or church. My Uncle Chester would be living in a van down by the river if not for the Pennsylvania State Services Program. Oh and please note that the use of pop ups will be needed for the site. Please enable the use of pop ups on your computer. Good luck.
